Triste Magazine was a traditionally printed magazine devoted to the best in roots music, but with the hint of melancholia always present in the background. Now present only online, most of the artists featured are roots-based songwriters, or bands whose music is strongly song-based. Original interviews formed a large part of the magazine and can be found here online in full. Interviewees include: Neal Casal, Slaid Cleaves, Ron Sexsmith, Stacey Earle, Clive Gregson, Gene Parsons, Bill Mallonee, Freedy Johnston, Oh Susanna, Hawksley Workman, Jim White, Jackie Leven, Michael Weston King, The Handsome Family, Kevin Montgomery, Kelly Joe Phelps, Chris Hillman, Laura Veirs, Josh Ritter and more. A selection of reviews and articles can be found in the Features section including pieces on Richard Thompson, Nick Drake, Michael Chapman, Bob Dylan, Tim Hardin, Jackson C Frank, Gram Parsons, Nicky Swann and Marshall Crenshaw.
